This is a reference quality video presentation that boasts vivacious colors that are rich in saturation and bold in depth. The 70s décor, the flashy yellow minions, and even the explosive action battles in Chinatown are resplendent with rich colors and tons of activity. With the help of his minion friends, Gru tries his best to impress the remaining 5 members of the Vicious 6, only to get jeered at and turned away due to his age. The mix effectively places effects/sounds within the soundstage which place you within the scene, in turn, adding an enriching element that heightens the intended feeling like something is passing overhead, traveling through the room, or emanating from a specific location. After seeing Minions I wouldn't say that my opinion has necessarily changed however I enjoyed the 90 minute adventure that opens with their beginnings, assortment of "bosses" throughout the eons, and their encounter with Scarlett Overkill, which ultimately leads them to the boss we all know and love.

At this rate, it wouldn’t be surprising if the next film in the franchise is titled Minions: Despicable Me 4. Everyone is having fun, and the story is not so convoluted and worn out as the last Despicable Me movie was. s proved two things: that the Despicable Me franchise floundered without its star Steve Carell, and that the colourful bright yellow denim-wearing potato-like Minions were excellent value for money. It's undoubtedly geared for kids, colourful, frivolous, and fast-paced, but it's a winner for the accompanying adults too, not only delivering a number of fun, knowing, adult jokes, but also coming in as surprisingly tight, running the shortest of any of the movies at just 87 minutes with credits, which is a very forgiving runtime for an entertain-the-kids affair. Its storytelling isn’t quite as polished as the best in the series but, it strikes many of the right chords, resulting in an entertaining film that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Computer animation offers plenty of opportunity for HDR to stand and deliver, and The Rise of Gru is no exception.
