About this deal

Dorling Kindersley (DK) is a British multinational publishing company specializing in illustrated reference books for adults and children in 62 languages. But for history beginners, or beginners in history of particular periods or regions, it's a good browse-through book. This is not intended to be a full statement of all your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. Rather, I’d imagine it being one of those books a reader dips in and out of as a question arises or interest strikes. History of the World Map by Map" by Peter Snow and DK is a visually stunning and comprehensive exploration of world history through the lens of maps.

The pacing is my main criticism: as unfortunately often happens in these kind of "all encompassing" history volumes, far too much attention is given to more modern events than ancient ones. This is a must keep from school kids to college students, from history buff to map nerd, from professional scholars to avid readers.

Despite a few typos in the French version that I read, it's a good starting point to spark an interest to delve deeper into certain periods, with the beautiful maps included providing a spark of intrigue. If you fail to comply with this obligation, we may have a right of action against you for compensation. Darling’s book has wonderful pictures about the world events; and it has an excellent 95 page timeline summary of the events. The goods do not need to be in their original packaging however in a sellable condition, and at your own cost and risk.

Remarkably detailed, colorful rendering of maps, complete covering without any bias towards any populistic ideas such as nationalism, racism, genderism, nor religionism. With its richly detailed maps and engaging narrative, the book offers a unique and accessible way to grasp the complexities of human history on a global scale.

This history book reaching across millennia gives you a broad view of the pivotal events in our past. If you weren't paying too much attention during history classes, here's your chance to pay catch up. Encontrar os mapas na obra é igualmente fácil, já que cada período histórico está bem separado e também codificado por cor. Just having a place with all the timelines and maps of main events is great for developing the big picture. Battles Map by Map puts you in the seat of famous generals and commanders such as Rameses II, Napoleon, and Alexander the Great who expertly planned their attacks by studying the plains on which they would take place.
