About this deal

In July 2016, following Theresa May's appointment as Prime Minister, Mordaunt was appointed Minister of State for Disabled People, Work and Health at the Department for Work and Pensions. We're used to hearing that we live in an age of unprecedented division, that the great storms that have engulfed British politics over the past ten years have driven us further apart than ever, with no hope of finding common ground.

A former public relations professional, Mordaunt is now a rising cabinet minister in the United Kingdom’s Conservative government. Britain, this is your future - marginalised by dim, 3rd rate buffoons who haven't enough brains to blow their hats off. According to a report in the Guardian from July: “The book contains a Trainspotting-esque list setting out their joint pitch for why modern Britain is better than the UK of the 70s over several pages, including: ‘No borstal. In 1970 the global UN development structure was reoriented by the General Assembly toward a giant systems enhancement machine intended to enable ALL nations to move up the ladder. Lord Frost was critical of her time as his deputy in the Brexit negotiations, saying he had "grave reservations" about her being Prime Minister and that "she did not master the detail that was necessary when we were in negotiations". Prime Minister Boris Johnson described the book, Greater – Britain After the Storm, as a "pre-match pep talk for Brexit Britain”. Under Prime Minister John Major she was Head of Youth for the Conservative Party, before working for two years as Head of Broadcasting for the Conservatives under party leader William Hague (1999–2001).

The cover design is elegant, and its thickness gives it a satisfying weight and the illusion of depth and seriousness. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country. Following Theresa May's appointment as Prime Minister, Mordaunt was appointed Minister of State for Disabled People, Work and Health. My favourite politician and, I hope, a future Prime Minister, describes our country, warts and all and, in doing so, brings into the light those things which need reformatting and those things about which we should be mightily proud. In a cabinet reshuffle in February 2020, Mordaunt re-entered the Government, joining the Cabinet Office as Paymaster General in succession to Oliver Dowden. It’s a hugely entertaining read that tackles some vital questions, including how we can reunite our polarised country and how our local communities can become even stronger. The parts that are potentially interesting or worth reading are utterly drowned by a relentless deluge of shallow cultural commentary, tedious rehashes of already stale arguments, groan-inducing attempts at humour, and excessively long lists. In 2016, she ended a long-term relationship with businessman Ian Lyon, a part-time classical singer.
