About this deal

Ben is also a Trustee of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), one of the world’s largest climate change focused philanthropic funds. In each episode you'll follow one person's journey, getting to listen in on their coaching sessions with Selina and following them as she sends them off on a task to try out a new career idea.

Intensely readable, poetic, truthful, wise and wonderful, this will live with me for a very long time. I’ve recently moved to London from South Africa and due to my relocation am looking for new work opportunities here. We can’t spend too long in it, it is unbearable, and Goldsmith’s environmental mission is a way for him to step out of the pond.

The devastation of the Scottish highlands in the pursuit of game hunting and grouse shooting is clearly described, as well as the poisoning of the landscape by short sighted farming practices. I read it as part of a group and a few people were put off by Ben’s privilege as he obviously spends a lot of money on his garden and takes a long time off work. Considering the subject matter this is perfectly understandable however it just wasn't for me so I found those bits a very hard slog. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

Ben was appointed a Director of the UK Government's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for five years, until 2022. I studied finance and my background is primarily in venture capital and private equity (with an investor relations focus), but I’m open to exploring any interesting positions. These products and ideas might sound good, but there are cheaper and more wildlife-friendly alternatives.Whilst most of us do not have acres of land to rewild, we do have a little slice of nature around us that is free to enjoy. Joanna Lumley Stunningly beautiful, immensely sad, immensely uplifting, this is a book of grief and joy and wonder and renewal. Ben Goldsmith’s description of his grief at the tragic death of his daughter Iris and his path forward in the aftermath is an intensely moving work. I would highly recommend Solnit’s A Paradise Built in Hell as a companion book to God is an Octopus.

He explores different religious beliefs about death and the afterlife, even engaging with a psychic medium. Now Caine delves into the real stories behind the gangs we think we know so well, revealing the hidden realities behind the myths. To paraphrase Orwell, good books tell you something new, the best books tell you something you already know to be true.

Audrey Ward * The Sunday Times * Ben chronicles the unfathomable tragedy of his daughter’s death with the profound love and compassion of a bereft parent. If you asked this woman why she engages in such a “sport”, she would tell you that she loves the rush of racing through the beautiful countryside on her horse, she would argue that this is her way of “engaging with nature”.
