About this deal

I ended up keeping the printed circuit board (henceforth, the PCB) with it's LEDs, and the chrome plastic reflector. The HydraLamp Anti-Gravity Fountain Lamp is cool on its own and all, but what really makes this neat display piece a candidate for your living room are the cat and Corgi. You won’t want to glue them together now because when it’s all set up nicely, you’ll paint the bowls flying saucer color. But as it's quite unlikely that you'll ever ‘attend' a real alien abduction, to make up for it, we recommend this really geeky Alien Abduction Lamp.

I painted a black band around the bowl because I only wanted to be able to see the head of the alien but this is optional. In fact, it was so cheap, it almost never worked, so I disassembled the light to see what would be worth keeping. When I make this lamp for my son’s bedroom, I think I will use one for underneath the cow, unless it makes the lamp too tippy. I had decided early on that I wanted an external switch, so I picked up a switch at Radio Shack that I could snap into a hole to be drilled in the top of the bowl of the flying saucer. So I drilled the three small reflector mounting holes again, and the three small plate mounting holes again, and very carefully, and very slowly used the circle cutter to cut the larger hole in the middle until .

have a cult following and are hugely popular showing the appetite for extra-terrestrial beings is huge. An energy efficient touch control colour changing LED lighting, giving a polaris effect similar to your planet's Northern Lights; or stealth mode if you need to avoid detection. com/listings/UFO-Alien-Abduction-Lamp-Bedroom-RED-Spaceship-Night-Light-Office-Desk-Custom/405823551? With all three screws in place, thread a nut over each screw where it protrudes from the bottom of the plate, tighten them down, and except for some finishing details, your Alien Abduction Lamp is now complete. Now set the cow in the middle of the circle of grass, place the glass over the cow, and your Alien flying saucer is ready to abduct the cow.The circle of indoor/outdoor carpet shown in the picture above ended up looking too small under the finished lamp, so I replaced it with a larger circle when I was done. If you’re watching a favorite sci-fi movie, you could turn the lamp on for a better visual experience. of them, drill spaceship designs into the bowls, top or bottom, or around it, drill a slightly larger hole in the bottom upright bowl to feed the cord thru; put the christmas bulbs thru the drilled holes, dab of hot glue to hold in place, put a white or yellow light poking out the bottom (or green), electrical tape one end of christmas lights (to keep from getting shocked), then on the other end of the christmas lights, twist each wire strand to the electric cord, electrical tape each, and for safety put a wire tie around them, pull in the cord and your spaceship comes alive with different lights ~ coming to the get the cow…. I made a copy of the list on a business-card-sized piece of note card, and kept it in my wallet so that I'd have it if I happened to be somewhere that might have an item on the list.

The flying saucer sports several windows, with glow-in-the-dark aliens peering inside a glowing green cockpit behind them. When I was finally able to CAREFULLY snap the scribed bits out, I finished up the large hole with a half-round hand-held file. In a galaxy far, far away, superior beings have engineered, and hand assembled an out of this world table lamp for you to enjoy. As for its illumination capabilities, the Alien Abduction Lamp employs a number of energy-saving LEDs under the spacecraft, ensuring sufficient lighting without using up too much power. Here you can see the LED lights on the printed circuit board being fitted into the holes in the reflector .
